The Great Commission is not limited by political boundaries. Mobilizing the whole church in India to participate in meeting the global needs of missions is the need of the hour. The global church needs the involvement of Indians in missions’ world wide. It is necessary to send out Indian Christians as bearers of the Good News not just within but outside India too. Macedonian calls for Indian Christians come from every part of the world.
There is no country in the world better equipped for this task than India. We have a rich heritage of being recipients of God’s grace and His Gospel. Indians have been known to travel to far and wide places to find employment. As Christians, we need to learn to merge that with God’s call for global missions. As a matter of fact, we do not even need to go to the ‘ends of the earth’. The world’s neediest places are part of our ‘Judea’ and ‘Samaria’. Our neighbors in South Asia, the Arab World, Central Asia, South East Asia and the Far East are torn by political turmoil, civil wars and poverty. There are millions of people who are hungry for the gospel of love and peace, but there aren’t enough people to go share it with them. Indians have to become the torchbearers to the Gospel in the 21st century.
To accelerate this movement of sending Indians overseas, we need to create a fund that can assist some of the Indian Partners to raise their ‘Team Support’. The costs of overseas travel, setting up expenses, moving personal belongings by sea or air, overseas medical insurance, housing expenses, children’s education and emergency expenses are some items for which we need funds. Interserve facilitates this Macedonian call in denominational as well as local churches by helping them to send members of their congregation cross culturally to spread the Gospel.
