Interserve is an cross-cultural, inter-denominational evangelical fellowship of Christians committed to each other in partnership and
in service to the people.
Formed in 1852, Interserve has pioneered in the fields of education, medical, community and spiritual development in India, being motivated by the love of Christ. Interserve has fostered and nurtured several ministry initiatives that are making great impact in the contemporary Indian Christian scenario; Union Biblical Seminary (UBS)—a theological training institution; Union of Evangelical Students of India (UESI)—a ministry among college students and Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA)—a medical mission which deserves reference here and reflects the varied areas of ministries Interserve had catered to in the past. Today, our involvement has spread among every strata of the society through ‘Interserve Partners,’ who use their professional skills to aid their ministry in transforming the communities through encounter with Jesus Christ.
Interserve India society comprises of Indian churches and mission leaders from around the nation. They meet once a year to elect a Governing Body with nine members to frame policies for fulfilling the objectives and vision of Interserve India. At present Interserve India has Partners serving across the world. The mission established hundreds of projects involving education, health care and community development in partnership with the local leadership in North and Western India and subsequently the ownership and management of these projects were handed over to the local leadership. Interserve continues to serve as facilitator by seconding personnel to the projects as and when they need them.
Interserve India is a partner with National Councils in other countries and is in fellowship with the Interserve International. Interserve India is also an active member of the India Missions Association and Evangelical Fellowship of India.
